Pat McAfee’s role at ESPN just continues to expand. On Wednesday, several reporters announced that McAfee will be joining Monday Night Countdown starting this season, which positions McAfee to be part of ESPN’s Super Bowl coverage in February.
The former Indianapolis Colts punter turned sports media mainstay has more momentum than anyone else at the company right now. He joins Scott Van Pelt, Jason Kelce, Jason McCourty (who replaces the recently fired Ryan Clark) and Marcus Spears on the Monday Night Countdown crew.

Monday Night Football is a massive, massive product for ESPN, featuring Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge with Peyton and Eli Manning’s popular alternate cast in the mix, too.
As mentioned above, Pat McAfee is everywhere right now. He’s set to continue his analyst role on College GameDay (starting back up very soon!) and is the host of the Pat McAfee show, which runs on ESPN every weekday from Noon to 3 p.m. ET, with Noon-2 airing live on ESPN and 2-3 airing on ESPN+.
