The 2025 NFL season kicks off this weekend, and one of the biggest storylines around the league is once again going to be the romance between star Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift.
The two recently announced their engagement after two years of dating, and are sure to remain firmly in the spotlight for the duration of the new NFL campaign.
While Kelce is looking to put together another Pro Bowl-caliber season on the gridiron, conversations are also beginning to swirl around whether or not Swift will ever be tabbed to perform during the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
It is the biggest stage in the world, so it makes sense that Swift would eventually be asked to perform during the prestigious event, given her status as the biggest star in music.
As it turns out, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was recently asked about the odds of Swift performing during the Super Bowl Halftime Show during an interview on the Today Show, and Goodell had a very interesting response to the burning question.
“We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time,” Goodell said. “I can’t tell you anything about it, but it’s a maybe.”
While Goodell’s comments are certainly non-committal in nature, the fact that he is openly stating that there’s a possibility of Swift performing during the Super Bowl is sure to stir up a good deal of excitement.
If Swift does eventually get the nod to perform during the big event, then it is sure to be among the most-viewed halftime shows in history.
