The Will Levis era is over in Nashville, as the Tennessee Titans are releasing the former Kentucky quarterback per reporting from Ringer’s Tom Pelissero.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler added that he had been told that Levis was hoping to leave the Titans as he searches for a fresh start in the league.
Selected with the 33rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Levis’ career in Tennessee never truly got going. Turnover and injury issues plagued his young tenure, and after Levis showed little signs of improvement during the 2024 campaign, the Titans opted to look towards a new era behind the arm of Cam Ward.
Across 21 games played from two seasons, Levis completed 61% of his passes for 3,899 yards and 21 touchdowns, but it was the 16 interceptions over that span that caused fans in Nashville to grow frustrated with his performances.
Of course, Levis became such a high draft pick to begin with thanks to his play with Kentucky. After spending two years at Penn State and transferring following the 2020 campaign, Levis became an immediate starter for Mark Stoops.
The Connecticut native racked up over 5,000 passing yards and 54 total touchdowns with the Wildcats, but he did toss 23 interceptions during that time frame as well.
