There is no question that the combination of Tom Brady and Rob Gro nkowski was the most prolific quarterback/tight end tandem in the NFL during their time with the New England Patriots.

The Brady/Gronk duo combined for 105 touchdowns in the regular season and playoffs, the most from a QB to a TE, and the second most from a QB to any receiver in history (only Peyton Manning’s 114 to Marvin Harrison was more). Gronkowski’s 15 postseason touchdown catches are also second-most all time in the NFL behind only Hall of Famer Jerry Rice (22).

But that didn’t stop Brady from needling Gronk on Fox NFL Sunday while discussing Drake Maye’s performance so far in 2025 for the Patriots.

“Right now, Drake Maye is playing with the greatest tight end in the history of the New England Patriots – Hunter Henry,” Brady said with Gronkowski right beside him. “I mean, this guy is like electric out there.”

Amid laughter from the rest of the analysts, Gronkowski managed a feeble reply.

“Wow, shots fired,” Gronk said with a chuckle. “He got me. He got me. I’ll just keep taking my shots over here.”

Henry is playing well so far in 2025, entering the Sunday Night Football game against the Bills with 15 receptions for 204 yards and 3 touchdowns for the 2-2 Patriots.
