Since Florida started the Honorary Mr. Two Bits tradition era in 2013, it has usually been one special person leading the signature cheer. For Saturday’s homecoming contest against South Carolina, UF is doubling up.

Florida announced Tuesday that basketball greats Andrew Moten and Vernon Maxwell, nicknamed the M&M Boys as Gators, are teaming up again Saturday as Honorary Two Bits.

Moten and Maxwell are back in town to be inducted into the UF Athletic Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class on Friday night. The pair, now in their 60s, helped lead Florida basketball in the 1980s, including the program’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament in 1987, when UF made the Sweet 16. Maxwell and Moten combined for 4,380 career points.

NCAA violations in 1990 led to nearly 1,400 of Maxwell’s career points being removed from the Florida record books. Last year, the University Athletic Association announced the restoration of Maxwell’s stats. With 2,450 career points, Maxwell officially returned to being Florida’s all-time leading scorer. Moten is 3 spots behind with 1,930 career points.

Jon Sumrall‘s Florida football team enters the homecoming game in bounce-back mode. The Gators suffered their first loss of the season in Week 5 at Mizzou, falling to 4-1 after being blown out by the Tigers 45-17 on homecoming Saturday in Columbia.

Kickoff for Saturday is set for 12:45 p.m. ET, with the game airing on the SEC Network.
