LSU has reportedly poached an SEC rival in the transfer portal for help on offense. Tennessee offensive lineman William Satterwhite is transferring to LSU, according to CBSSports and 247Sports.

The 6-foot-3, 305-pound Satterwhite was a redshirt freshman this season, so he has 3 seasons of eligibility remaining. Satterwhite was the backup center for Tennessee this season, playing in 8 games. Satterwhite was expected to be a starter but Notre Dame transfer Sam Pendleton beat him out for the position.

Satterwhite appeared in 3 games in 2024 prior to redshirting. Coming out of high school, Satterwhite was regarded by the 247Sports Composite as a 4-star prospect and the nation’s No. 12 interior offensive lineman.

This news comes as LSU center Braelin Moore is still mulling whether to return to Baton Rouge or declare for the 2026 NFL Draft.

LSU struggled offensively this season, finishing tied for 101st nationally in points per game (23.0). Specifically, LSU couldn’t generate a rushing attack, ranking 126th in the country with 104 yards per game.

LSU hopes that the addition of offensive mastermind Lane Kiffin and an influx of talent such as Satterwhite will lead to a more potent unit next season.
