Calvin Ridley comparison? Fans, media take issue with length of Deshaun Watson’s possible discipline

Calvin Ridley came to mind for many fans and media in the wake of the reports that Deshaun Watson’s recommended suspension is 6 games.

The former Alabama wide receiver was suspended for betting $1,500 on games last season. The NFL cited Ridley endangering the integrity of the sport and there is no guarantee for his NFL future.

A judge in a discipline hearing reportedly informed all parties of the recommendation for Watson. Watson, the Cleveland Browns QB, recently settled 23 of 24 lawsuits filed by massage therapists alleging sexual harassment and assault during appointments in 2020 and 2021.

At one point, Ridley started trending on social media because of so much chatter about the issue.
