College GameDay was live from South Bend, Indiana ahead of a historic College Football Playoff matchup between Indiana and Notre Dame.
This year, the Playoff features 12 teams for the first time ever. And with expansion comes the introduction of on-campus CFP games throughout the first round.
Notre Dame gets the pleasure of hosting the first-ever home Playoff game in Friday’s game vs. the Hoosiers, and it’s a banner evening for the state of Indiana. To kick off the evening, ESPN’s marquee pre-game show was live from the home of the Fighting Irish with picks to be made.
Joining the GameDay crew for Friday’s show is popular comedian Shane Gillis to make his pick. Gillis has been seen throughout the college football season in a string of Bud Light ads, including a humorous college football-themed spot that debuted ahead of the season.
Here is how Gillis and the crew picked Friday’s historic showdown:
Indiana at Notre Dame
- Desmond: Notre Dame
- Saban: Notre Dame
- McAfee: Indiana
- Gillis: Notre Dame
- Herbstreit: Notre Dame
While Friday’s game is the first of its kind, it is just the tip of the iceberg for a college football weekend of massive proportions. The first-round games continue on Saturday with SMU at Penn State, Clemson at Texas and Tennessee at Ohio State.
Catch Friday’s game live and tune back in on Saturday for the CFP trifecta!
