Quinn Ewers is happy to be leaving Ann Arbor with a different outcome than his first trip to the Big House.

Ewers began his college football career at Ohio State in 2021. He played in only 1 game and redshirted as CJ Stroud was OSU’s QB1. Though Saturday was his first game against the Wolverines, Ewers had previously traveled to Michigan with the 2021 Buckeyes. Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan team beat Ohio State 42-27 in 2021, and is on a 3-game winning streak in the heated Big Ten rivalry.

Ewers came home to Texas ahead of the 2022 season, but it appears he still views Michigan the way Buckeyes do.

“I understand the rivalry Ohio State has with Michigan,” Ewers said after the game. “To kind of carry that along through the week…and I understand how it goes. It was cool coming back here because the last time I was here didn’t end up going which team I was on’s way.”

At July’s SEC Media Days, many noticed when Ewers called Michigan “The Team Up North,” Ohio State’s preferred way to refer to the Wolverines.

Ewers had plenty of Buckeye fans cheering him on Saturday.
