Former Utah State and Michigan defensive lineman Phillip Paea announced Saturday afternoon that he will play at Oklahoma this upcoming season out of the transfer portal.

Paea is the 9th defensive transfer addition of the offseason and the 6th addition to the Sooners’ defensive line. Former Tennessee and Kansas DL Da’Jon Terry recently committed to Oklahoma as well.

Paea has been in college football since 2017 and has taken a redshirt, covid exemption and medical redshirt across 6 years. Now, he enters his 7th season at Oklahoma after 3 years in Ann Arbor and 2 years in Logan, Utah.

He missed all but the first 3 games of last season after suffering an injury and has 2 seasons of eligibility according to his Twitter account.

Paea totaled 2 tackles and an interception last season for the Aggies. In 2021, he totaled 14 tackles with 2 TFL.
