Former Ole Miss WR Ayden Williams announces transfer to Mississippi State

Former Ole Miss WR Ayden Williams is switching sides in the Egg Bowl.
After entering the transfer portal, Williams announced Friday that he will continue his college football career at Mississippi State. He shared the news with the help of On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Lane Kiffin reacted to seeing his player leave for an in-state rival.
Williams leaves Oxford after 2 seasons of playing in Lane Kiffin’s program.
Out of Ridgeland (Mississippi) High School, Williams was one of the state’s top prospects. On the 247Sports Composite, he was rated 4-stars, the No. 2 player in Mississippi, No. 16 wide receiver and No. 82 prospect overall in the Class of 2023 the 247Sports Composite. He picked up 16 scholarship offers, including Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Oregon, South Carolina and Tennessee.
As a freshman, Williams played in 11 games. He recorded 4 catches for 80 yards, including a 43-yard reception against Mercer, the first of his career.
This past season, Williams made 8 appearances. He logged 3 receptions for 39 yards in Weeks 1 and 2 against Furman and Middle Tennessee. He finished the year seeing limited playing time in SEC.
Williams has 2 full seasons of eligibility remaining.
