Jaxson Dart jumps Eli Manning for most passing yards in Ole Miss history
Jaxson Dart is now the all-time record holder for most passing yards in Ole Miss history.
Dart set the record in Oxford on Friday night during the Egg Bowl. Manning finished his career with 10,119 passing yards, which Dart surpassed late in the second quarter.

Dart began his career at USC but has been Ole Miss’s starting quarterback for the past 3 seasons. He had already set a career high in passing yards for a single season entering Week 14 with over 3,700 so far in 2024. He also leads all SEC quarterbacks in that category so far this year.
Dart has needed significant fewer attempts to get to the record than Manning did. Manning attempted 1,363 passes in his Ole Miss career. Dart, meanwhile, entered Saturday’s Egg Bowl with just 1,248 career attempts. Manning had 3 different seasons with 400+ passing attempts while Dart has never once gone over that barrier.
After the record was broken, ABC’s broadcast played a congratulatory message from Manning:
“Hey Jaxson, congratulations on passing my career yardage mark at Ole Miss,” Manning said. “I’m usually not very excited about one of my records getting broken but, having gotten to meet you over the years and watch your career, I’m happy that it’s someone like you.”
