Joel Klatt spoke highly of Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and what the Rebels have been able to do in the transfer portal this offseason.

The Rebels have added former Tennessee Edge Tyler Baron, former Vols DB Tamarion McDonald, former Arkansas LB Chris “pooh” Paul, former Florida Edge Princely Umanmielen and former South Carolina WR Juice Wells. That’s about half the list, and it’s not even Christmas.

On Monday Klatt spoke regarding Kiffin’s recent run in the portal, here’s what he had to say:

“Ole Miss is doing a wonderful job,” Klatt said. “They have three of the top 15 players right now out of the portal committed. It looks like they’re the favorite for the No. 1 overall player in the portal — that’s Walter Nolen. Lane could be the portal king.”

Ole Miss is building its defense especially. Of the 10 prospects added out of the portal, all but 2 – Wells and IOL Gerquan Scott out of Southern Miss – will battle for positions along the defense in 2024.
