Lane Kiffin has been the biggest focus and topic of Auburn’s coaching search in the month of November. The Ole Miss head coach has been the Tigers No. 1 target of their coaching vacancy; however, it appears that Auburn will miss on Kiffin.

According to On3’s Matt Zenitz, Kiffin told Ole Miss players that he plans on staying the head coach of the Rebels unless “something significantly changes.”

Auburn fired Bryan Harsin on October 31st, and Cadillac Williams took over the interim head coaching duties for the Tigers. Auburn then hired new athletic director John Cohen, who came over from Mississippi State, on the same day.

Cohen has been tasked with hiring Auburn’s next head football coach, and according to reports and speculation, Kiffin has been front and center of the search.

Kiffin has a combined record of 23-10 overall at Ole Miss. The Rebels head coach was the subject of lots of coaching speculation after the 2021 season, too, but he stayed put in Oxford. It appears like he’s going to do the same with respect to the Auburn vacancy.
