Lane Kiffin provided a positive injury update for starting QB Jaxson Dart Saturday following the Rebels’ ugly loss to Georgia.

Dart was replaced by Spencer Sanders after suffering an injury on this collision in the first half. He did not return to game action.

However, Kiffin told reporters postgame that Dart could have returned and that they chose to keep him sidelined out of precaution. By that point, the game was out of hand.

It goes without saying that’s great news for the Rebels. Dart has been a lot of fun this season and is performing like one of the top QBs in the country. He had a poor start against the Bulldogs, but his health is crucial moving forward as Ole Miss is currently in the race for a NY6 bid.

Ole Miss faces off against Louisiana Monroe next week before finishing its regular season against Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl.
