The shoulder injury bothered Sanders throughout his final season in Stillwater and was still something he was dealing with during the spring in Oxford. But it appears the injury is now in the rearview mirror.
That’s good news for the Rebels, who are set to have one of the SEC’s most intriguing quarterback battles during fall camp. Sanders will be competing with incumbent Jaxson Dart and LSU transfer Walker Howard for the starting job.
Sanders was a 4-year starter at Oklahoma State. He completed 61% of his passes and threw for 9,553 yards and 67 touchdowns during his time with the Cowboys. He also rushed for another 1,956 yards and 18 scores for Oklahoma State.
Ole Miss opens the 2023 season against Mercer on Sept. 2.
