Ole Miss is continuing to make impressive additions via the transfer portal this offseason.

The Rebels added another key player on Friday evening in former Tennessee defensive back Brandon Turnage. Turnage began his collegiate career at Alabama, but has spent the past 3 seasons in Knoxville with the Volunteers.

Here’s his commitment announcement:

Turnage initially joined Alabama as a 4-star recruit back in the class of 2019. He spent 2 seasons with the Crimson Tide, but did not make a significant on-field impact.

After those 2 years in Tuscaloosa, Turnage transferred to Tennessee and has been a regular contributor for the Vols since the 2021 season. In 3 seasons with Tennessee, he recorded 48 tackles, 1 interception and 7 pass breakups.

Turnage will now re-united with Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding, who served in that role at Alabama when Turnage committed to the Tide out of high school. Turnage was the No. 103 overall player and the No. 11 cornerback in the country for the class of 2019, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Turnage is a Mississippi native. He attended Lafayette High School in Oxford.

Ole Miss now has 14 transfer commitments so far this offseason. The Rebels’ transfer class ranks No. 2 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Turnage will have 1 season of eligibility remaining.
