Ole Miss is slowly becoming the favorite to land former Texas A&M defensive lineman Walter Nolen.

According to On3’s Pete Nakos, the Rebels are now projected to earn Nolen’s commitment.

Nolen decided to transfer from College Station after spending the last 2 seasons there. He accounted for 66 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 forced fumble from 2022-2023.

The former Texas A&M DL was a highly touted prospect out of high school. He hailed from Powell (Tenn.) High and was a former 5-star recruit in the 2022 class. Nolen was the No. 1 DL and No. 1 prospect in the state for his class, per the 247Sports Composite.

Ole Miss is one of the many teams from around the country that offered Nolen as a recruit. SEC schools such as Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Georgia, LSU, Missouri, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt all showed interest in him.

If Lane Kiffin can secure another transfer portal addition in Nolen, the Rebels’ defensive line could be scary. Kiffin has already earned transfer commits from edge rushers Tyler Baron out of Tennessee and Princely Umanmielen from Florida.
