Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss are putting in work in the transfer portal.

The Rebels have won the offseason thus far, especially on the defensive side. The Rebels affirmed that Saturday afternoon, adding former Tennessee pass rusher Tyler Baron, one of the best Edges in the transfer portal.

Baron is the 2nd Vol to transfer to Ole Miss Saturday, joining starting CB/Nickel Tamarion McDonald, who was one of Tennessee’s top players in the secondary last season. Key Lawrence, who played at Tennessee before landing at Oklahoma, committed to Ole Miss a few days ago.

The Rebels have also added defensive talent through the portal such as Florida’s Princely Umanmielen, Arkansas’ Chris Paul Jr. and Illinois’ Tahveon Nicholson.

Here’s Baron’s official announcement, via X:

Baron is a freight train on the defensive line. The newest Rebel just finished up his best season in college football, one that saw him total 28 tackles with 10.5 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 2 pass deflections and 1 fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. He has 27 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks across his 46-game Tennessee career.

Next season will be Baron’s last in college football. The senior edge rusher landed at Tennessee in 2020 and has just 1 season of eligibility remaining.
