SMU coach Chad Morris was recently linked to the opening at Ole Miss, and Brad Logan of Gridiron Now went as far as to say Morris “wants the job.”

This isn’t the first opening Morris has been linked to since he’s been at SMU. Last year, he was connected to the Baylor vacancy before he signed an extension. Morris, a former Clemson offensive coordinator, responded to to the latest report while in his third season at SMU.

“I figured all this stuff was going to start turning into play now,” Morris said, according to the Dallas Morning News. “That’s the way this business works. You know what, this is all about these kids. This is all about SMU. I’m 100 percent dedicated right here to these young men and this university. I’m just really proud of our kids.”

SMU is 7-5 this season, and beat Tulane 41-38 on Saturday.
