Ole Miss likes to call its wide receivers “Nasty Wide Outs.” But after an unbelievable catch late in Saturday’s game against Southern Illinois, there’s a new entry for best catch this season. And plenty of reason to argue for another member added to the NWOs, who are already arguably the best wide receiver group in the SEC.

With backup QB Matt Corral in the game, WR Alex Weber made a spectacular catch around a defense back’s back for a 31-yard catch that ended at the 1-yard-line. Corral scored two plays later after the highlight-worthy pass was his first career completion.

That proved to be Weber’s only catch of the game, and Corral’s only completion, as he went 1-for-2.

The catch recalled memories from former Alabama WR Tyrone Prothro, who made a similar play in 2005 against Southern Miss.
