Mark Sanchez used an interesting analogy to describe Jalen Hurts and his ability to escape tackles.

The Philadelphia Eagles went to play the New York Jets on Sunday, and it wasn’t a day the Eagles would like to remember. Hurts threw three interceptions on the day, and the Jets sent the Eagles back home with their first loss of the season, 20-14.

It was a weird game for Hurts, who made some uncharacteristic mistakes throwing the ball. He was able to run the ball fairly well, which is another strength of his game. He rushed the ball 8 times for 47 yards and 1 touchdown. The Eagles are famous for the “Brotherly Shove,” and FOX analyst Mark Sanchez had an interesting take on it.

“Are you kidding me?” Sanchez said during the broadcast. “They can’t get this guy to the turf. Jalen Hurts, what is he — I mean, like a salmon covered in Vaseline, bro. This guy’s just too slippery. He refuses to go down. He’s got this incredible contact balance. As soon as he gets hit, he just drops his angle.”

That is certainly one way to describe Hurts, but Sanchez has a point with the QB’s ability to evade tackles. Unfortunately, it was not the night for Hurts or the Eagles.

The former Alabama quarterback had never thrown 3 interceptions in a game in the NFL and only threw 6 all of last season. Those interceptions proved to be the difference as the Jets rallied for a 20-14 win to end Philadelphia’s undefeated season.
