The AP Top 25 Poll has been released for the final time in the 2024-25 college football season. To no surprise, Ohio State takes the top spot after beating Notre Dame on Monday night.
It’s the first national championship for the Buckeyes since Urban Meyer led the program to the title in 2014. Meanwhile, Notre Dame finishes No. 2 in the AP Poll after falling to Ohio State in Atlanta. Oregon, finishing the year at 13-1 with a Big Ten Championship, ended the year at No. 3.
Texas was the first SEC team listed at No. 4 overall. Georgia, winners of the SEC, fell to No. 6 on the final poll.
The top 10 was led by the Big Ten with 4 squads featured, including 3 of the top 5 teams. The SEC was next with 3 teams while the Big 12, Mountain West and indepedents all producing 1 team each.
One particular area of interest includes Alabama. The Crimson Tide finished the season at No. 17 on the AP Poll in Kalen DeBoer‘s first season. It is the worst finish for Alabama since the team ended the year unranked in 2007, the first season of the Nick Saban era.
