The Associated Press Preseason Top 25 poll is out, and Georgia is No. 1, as the Bulldogs lead 6 SEC teams ranked, including 3 in the top 5.

Similarly, last week the USA Today Preseason Coaches Poll, also had Georgia on top to start the season.

To end last season, Georgia was No. 1 in the final Associated Press Top 25 college football poll, and became the 12th back-to-back national champion in the history of the rankings after it routed TCU.

The Horned Frogs were No. 2, their best final rankings since the 2010 season, while Michigan was No. 3, followed by Ohio State and Alabama.

Alabama is No. 4, the lowest preseason AP ranking for Tide since 2009, when it was No. 5. LSU starts at No. 5, its best preseason ranking since 2016.

Georgia is looking for the elusive 3-peat in college football. The Bulldogs won the College Football Playoff national championship game in January, 65-7, to secure their third AP title overall. Their first came in 1980. Georgia also became the 14th school with as many as 3 AP national titles.
