The bowl season will officially kick off Sunday when bowl game matchups are announced. The SEC has 10 bowl game tie-ins plus the playoffs, so with 12 SEC teams bowl eligible, all those slots with be filled.

Twelve bowl teams will match the NCAA record the SEC set in 2014. (The Big Ten, by comparison, has just 10 bowl eligible teams this year.)

Eleven SEC teams qualified by winning six or more games. Mississippi State is projected to make a bowl at 5-7 based on its high APR score.

How has each team done in the bowls? Nine teams have a winning record, but there’s one surprising exception.

Here’s a look at each SEC team’s bowl history.

Alabama (36-24-3): The Tide has played in more bowl games than any other SEC team. Its bowl record includes a 13-10 victory over Texas Tech in the 2005 Cotton Bowl that was vacated per NCAA ruling. Alabama has played in 14 Sugar Bowls (8-6), more than any other bowl game appearance in the program’s storied history. The Tide has also played eight times in both the Cotton (4-4) and Orange (4-4) Bowls. This year will be Alabama’s 13th consecutive season to make a bowl game.

Arkansas (15-23-3): The Razorbacks will be back in the postseason again this year. The former Southwest Conference member has made its most frequent bowl appearance in the Cotton Bowl, where they are 4-7-1 all-time.

Auburn (23-15-2): The Tigers are once again bowling for the fourth consecutive season. Last year they broke a two-game bowl losing streak with a 31-10 victory over Memphis in the Birmingham Bowl. But Auburn has most often appeared in the Gator Bowl, with six appearances – winning four of those.

Florida (21-21): The Gators are prominently in this year’s bowl picture and could make things very interesting for the College Football Playoff Selection Committee with a victory on Saturday in the SEC Championship Game. Historically, the Gators have made more trips to the Sugar Bowl and Gator Bowl — nine times each — than any other bowl game. Their seven victories in the Gator Bowl are a program-high for the postseason.

Georgia (29-19-3): The Bulldogs will put their two-game bowl win streak on the line this season. Georgia has appeared in nine Sugar Bowl games, winning four. That’s the most for the Bulldogs of all the bowls. They’ve also gone to the Outback, Gator and Peach Bowl four times each.

Kentucky (8-7): The Wildcats are going bowling for the first time since 2010. They’ll be looking to snap a two-game bowl losing streak. Kentucky has been to the Music City Bowl four times (2-2), more than any other postseason destination.

LSU (24-22-1): The Tigers are headed to a bowl game for the 17th consecutive season, the longest active streak in the SEC. LSU has most often played in the Sugar Bowl — 13 times (6-7).

Mississippi State (11-8): The 5-7 Bulldogs will continue their bowl streak, which stands at six consecutive appearances. They’ve had the most postseason success at the Liberty Bowl, going 3-1. It’s also the bowl game that Mississippi State has most appeared in. The Bulldogs have also played three times in both the Orange Bowl and Peach Bowl games.

Missouri (15-16): The Tigers aren’t bowling this season but will look to extend their three-game bowl win streak next year. Missouri has played four times in the Orange Bowl (1-3) and three each in the Cotton, Independence, and Gator Bowls.

Ole Miss (24-13): The Rebels snap a four-year streak of bowl appearances, the longest such run since 1997-2000. Ole Miss has won 11 of its past 13 bowl games. The Sugar Bowl (6-3) has been its most frequent postseason destination. The Rebels have also played five times in both the Cotton Bowl and Independence Bowl games.

South Carolina (8-12): The Gamecocks are back in the postseason after missing out last year. Will Muschamp has begun his own streak in his first season at South Carolina. Former head coach Steve Spurrier took the team to eight bowls over his 9-plus years at the helm. Muschamp will try to extend South Carolina’s four-game bowl win streak.

Tennessee (28-24): The Vols enter the postseason for the third consecutive season. They’ll try to extend their bowl win streak to three games. Tennessee has most bowl victories in the Sugar and Citrus Bowls, with four in each.

Texas A&M (17-20): The Aggies are going bowling for the eighth consecutive season. Last year they saw their four-game bowl win streak snapped. As a former member in both the Southwest Conference and Big 12 Conference, Texas A&M has appeared in the Cotton Bowl (13), winning five of those, more than any other bowl game. It’s also the only bowl in which the Aggies have managed to win more than once.

Vanderbilt (4-2-1): The Commodores will be making just their eighth bowl appearance in program history. They are on a two-game bowl win streak, and have won three of their past four bowl games.
