The latest Coaches Poll is out and the SEC has 7 teams. Last week’s poll also featured 7 teams, but there has been a change.
Week 5 was the SEC’s first full slate of conference competition, with 7 SEC games. College football coaches have reacted to the outcomes.
Georgia remains No. 1 in the poll. The Bulldogs were back to playing conference competition. UGA made its first road trip of the season to Auburn. Kirby Smart’s team fell behind early but came back to win a 4-quarter battle 27-20 in the rivalry clash.
Alabama picked up another SEC West, defeating Mississippi State 40-17. The Crimson Tide got a rankings bump, moving up from No. 11 to No. 10.
Ole Miss won the Magnolia Bowl in thrilling fashion, defeating LSU 55-49. The Rebels moved up 5 spots from No. 20 to No. 15. The Tigers, meanwhile, dropped 11 spots from No. 12 to No. 23.
Tennessee got revenge for last year’s loss to South Carolina. The Coaches moved the Vols up 1 spot with the win.
Missouri continued its undefeated start with a win over Vanderbilt. MU is No. 22 in the latest poll.
Florida had been ranked No. 23, but dropped out after a blowout loss to Kentucky. The Wildcats, meanwhile, enter the top 25 at No. 20.
