Former SEC assistant Chip Lindsey is expected to be let go of his job at Troy, Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports reported on Sunday. He went 15-19 in 3 seasons with the Trojans.

The Trojans are 5-6 this season, and lost to Appalachian State on Saturday, 45-7.

Lindsey was named the offensive coordinator at Kansas just before being named Troy’s head coach in January, 2019 after 2 seasons at Auburn and one season at Arizona State as both schools’ offensive coordinator.

Lindsey was an offensive analyst when the Tigers won the SEC Championship and made a BCS National Championship run. However, his most recent tenure on The Plains saw Auburn set school records and posted one of the best offensive seasons in SEC history.

As offensive coordinator at Southern Miss from 2014-15, he developed the Conference USA 2015 Offensive Player of the Year and current San Francisco 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens. Prior to his first stint at Auburn, from 2011-12, Lindsey served as head coach at Spain Park (Ala.) High School, leading the school to its first 6A regional championship.
