The 2021 college football season finished just 2 days ago, and already, we’re talking about next season.

CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd is the latest columnist to release rankings for the 2022 season. According to Dodd, Alabama and Georgia will once again make the Playoff, with Ohio State and Oklahoma joining them.

Alabama is Dodd’s preseason No. 1 team; the Tide will top most every preseason top 25 ranking, too. Bryce Young returns, as does defensive monster Will Anderson. Alabama will have some holes to fill, but talent isn’t an issue.

Dodd has Texas A&M ranked 5th and LSU ranked 8th. The Aggies are completely justified in the top 5. LSU, under first-year head coach Brian Kelly, is a bit of a surprise. Kelly has a lot of work to do to replenish LSU’s depleted roster.

Seven SEC teams are ranked in the top 25, including Arkansas (10), Tennessee (15) and South Carolina (22).
