If you were impressed with Jimbo Fisher’s 10-year, $75 million deal at Texas A&M, check out what Clemson just gave Dabo Swinney.

The defending national champions have agreed to pay Swinney $93 million over the next 10 seasons, according to multiple reports. That deal represents the richest deal in the history of college football.

Not that he hasn’t proven his value, but you may be wondering how Clemson came up with the $93 million figure. One explanation — Nick Saban is set to make an average of $9.3 million at Alabama over the span of his current deal in Tuscaloosa. Saban is currently signed on through the 2025 season at Alabama.

Swinney has led the Clemson program dating back to the 2008 season. During that span, he has racked up a 116-30 overall record, with two national championships and five ACC championships. The Alabama graduate and native has long been attached as the likely successor to Saban in Tuscaloosa but this deal may finally put an end to that speculation as Clemson has stepped up and proven how committed they are to keeping their coach for the next decade.
