Deion Sanders took a jab at longtime radio host and ESPN personality Paul Finebaum on Tuesday.

Sanders, who was appearing on Robert Griffin III’s ‘Outta Pocket’ podcast, called Finebaum a “dying breed” in the modern media landscape. Sanders was reacting a quote from Finebaum earlier this summer when he called Sanders’ Colorado program “irrelevant.”

“I know what he’s doing and I’m proud of him,” Sanders said of Finebaum. “That he’s smart enough to understand that this generation and … the way we communicate with sports, is different. And he’s a dying breed. So what does he have to do to stay [relevant] and keep up with this change? ‘Oh, I’ve got to go find that big bad wolf and talk about him. So now, I keep my relevancy.’

“And I’m saying, ‘cool. But I’m not going to help you. I’m not going to add to it. I’m not even going to respond. Cause that’s what you want.'”

Here’s video of Sanders’ thoughts on Finebaum:

Although Sanders’ remarks were about something Finebaum said back in July, the ESPN personality made more headlines this week while talking about Sanders. Finebaum called Sanders out for banning a Denver Post columnist from asking questions to members of the program.

Sanders’ Colorado team will face off against North Dakota State in its 2024 debut on Thursday night on ESPN.
