The blackout has been in effect since late August when carriage renewal negotiations soured between the companies, leaving nearly 14.7 million Charter users without Disney channels. During that time, some users cut the cord and switched to streaming platforms such as Disney’s Hulu + Live TV or Google’s YouTube TV.
During the blackout, Charter CEO Chris Winfrey expressed that the pay-TV model was extremely antiquated and flawed, with this situation as a prime example.
Some Week 3 matchups on Saturday that Charter members can now enjoy across Disney channels include No. 3 Florida State at Boston College (12 p.m. EST/ABC), No. 14 LSU at Mississippi State (12 p.m. EST/ESPN), and No. 10 Alabama at South Florida (3:30 p.m. EST/ABC).
