Fall weddings strike again: New Mexico WR to miss game because of sister’s wedding

When the New Mexico Lobos take on Utah State on Saturday, they’ll be without the services of their third-leading receiver, Anselem Umeh.
That’s because Umeh will be in Los Angeles for his older sister’s wedding.
According to the Albuquerque Journal, coach Bob Davie was supportive of his player attending the wedding, saying there are things that are bigger than football:
“It’s the first time in coaching that I’ve been in this situation,” said Davie, who decided Monday to have Umeh be with his family. “He can’t be in two places at one time. There will be other games. There won’t be another older sister’s wedding.”
We here in the SEC know that fall weddings should be banned, but sometimes they happen anyway, and Umeh faced a tough decision.
He’ll be back next weekend and ready to continue his strong season.
