SEC teams have signed 43 of the Top 100 players overall in the 2019 recruiting class. They are in the hunt for all 7 of the top uncommitted standouts, too, ahead of Wednesday’s National Signing Day.

Let’s expand the list a bit and find out how many of the nation’s top 50 prospects at each offensive position will be in the SEC in 2019. The totals, procured from 247Sports’ composite rankings, include signees and commitments. We didn’t include “athletes” because in the list because some might play defense.

Top 50 quarterbacks

Total: 14

5-stars: 1

4-stars: 11

3-stars: 2

Skinny: Auburn dual-threat early enrollee Bo Nix (above) headlines the bunch. He’s the lone 5-star and the No. 2-ranked QB in the class. SEC teams signed 9 of the Top 25 QBs in the country. Alabama (2), Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia (2*), LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and South Carolina each added at least 1 4-star. (*Georgia signed Dwan Mathis and has a commitment from 4-star John Rhys Plumlee, but he might sign elsewhere. He committed in the summer but has taken recent official visits to in-state Ole Miss and Mississippi State in addition to FSU and Auburn. He is the second-highest rated unsigned QB in the class.)

Top 50 running backs

Total: 10

5-stars: 2

4-stars: 7

3-stars: 1

Skinny: Trey Sanders (Alabama) and John Emery (LSU), the top 2 RBs in the country, signed with SEC schools. The third, Jerrion Ealy, is a former Ole Miss commit. Ealy is also a projected early-round pick in this summer’s baseball draft. He took an official visit to Alabama but is considered to be leaning toward Clemson.

Top 50 offensive linemen

Total: 19

5-stars: 5

4-stars: 14

Skinny: No league had more, and the SEC might not be done. Darnell Wright, a 5-star OT from West Virginia, is considering Tennessee and Alabama. If he picks either, the SEC will have 6 of the 8 5-star OL in the class.

Top 50 wide receivers/tight ends

Total: 15

5-stars: 1

4-stars: 14

Skinny: There were 4 5-star WRs in the class, but the SEC only landed 1: No. 4 Georgia Pickens (Auburn). Texas A&M added 3 4-stars among the Top 50.

Good news for former Alabama QB Jalen Hurts might be bad news for the rest of the SEC. His new team, Oklahoma, signed the Nos. 1, 3 and 11 receiving recruits and No. 3 tight end in the country.
