Week 4 was incredible around college football.

Conference and nonconference showdowns highlighted the day in the SEC, headlined by the nightcap of Georgia-Notre Dame. The Bulldogs defeated the Irish in a 23-17 game that was very physical. It said a lot about both teams.

Kirk Herbstreit was present in Athens for College GameDay Saturday, and he released his top six teams after Week 4 early Sunday morning.

Clemson topped the rankings at No. 1, as the Tigers defeated Charlotte 52-10 Saturday. Alabama was ranked second after its thumping of Southern Miss 49-7. Herbstreit then ranked LSU No. 3 following the Tigers 66-38 win over Vanderbilt. Ohio State checked in at No. 4 after the Buckeyes destroyed Miami (Ohio) 76-5.

Georgia didn’t make Herbstreit’s top four this week, but the Bulldogs are sitting just outside the top four at No. 5. Oklahoma ranked behind Georgia this week at No. 6.
