Kirk Herbstreit has named his top-performing coaches in college football for Week 2.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian tops the list after he led the Longhorns to an upset win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa this weekend.

Miami’s Mario Cristobal made Herbstreit’s list after his team defeated Texas A&M in Week 2. Miami put up 48 points a year after only managing 9 points against the Aggies in College Station.

Washington State head coach Jake Dickert, Cincinnati coach Scott Satterfield, James Madison coach Curt Cignetti, Kansas coach Lance Leipold and Rice coach Mike Bloomgren round out Herbstreit’s list:

With Texas’ win over Alabama, Sarkisian now has the Longhorns in position to compete for a College Football Playoff berth for the first time in program history.

Cristobal’s Miami program could also reach that benchmark for the first time this season. The Hurricanes are looking to take a big step forward this year after missing out on bowl season in 2022.

Herbstreit will be back on the air with ESPN during College GameDay on Saturday.
