Kirk Herbstreit reveals top-performing players from Week 2, including 2 SEC stars
Kirk Herbstreit has shared his list of top-performing players from Week 2.
There are 2 SEC representatives this week, both from Texas: quarterback Quinn Ewers and offensive lineman Jake Majors.
Ewers and Majors clock in at No. 1 and No. 7, respectively, on Herbstreit’s list after leading the Longhorns to a blowout victory in the road at Michigan in a top-10 matchup.
Syracuse’s Kyle McCord, Arizona State’s Cam Skattebo, Northern Illinois’ Kanon Woodill, Iowa State’s Kyle Konrardy and Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty round out Herbstreit’s list for this week.

McCord is 1 of 2 FBS quarterbacks who has thrown for at least 8 touchdown passes so far this season. Konrardy is another notable inclusion on Herbstreit’s list after he kicked a game-winning field goal in Iowa State’s comeback victory over Iowa on Saturday.
Ewers threw for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win over the Michigan. His performance has vaulted him to the top of Heisman Trophy odds leaderboards after Week 2. If Ewers goes on to win the Heisman, he’d be the third player in Texas history to do so.
Majors is Texas’ starting center and did a tremendous job of navigating Michigan’s vaunted defensive front in this game. For his efforts, Majors was also named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week.
