A two-time Heisman Trophy runnerup, and a pair of defensive stars from SEC West schools, are among the players announced this week to join the latest class of the College Football Hall of Fame, which was announced by the National Football Foundation.

Vince Young, the Heisman Trophy runnerup and former Texas quarterback, will be enshrined with former Arkansas RB Darren McFadden, Ole Miss LB Patrick Willis and Texas A&M DL Jacob Green.

McFadden was a two-time Heisman runner-up who came in second behind Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith in 2006 and Florida quarterback Tim Tebow in 2007. McFadden is the 20th Razorback to earn a spot in the Hall and the 10th player to receive the accolade, including the first inductee chosen for Arkansas playing career since Ronnie Caveness in 2010.

Willis becomes the 10th former player or coach to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as an Ole Miss Rebel. As a senior, Willis was a consensus All-American in 2006 when he won the Butkus Award and Lambert Trophy as the nation’s best linebacker.

Green is the 11th Aggie player elected to the hall.

Green was named a first-team All-American in 1979 after recording 20 sacks, which still stands as a Texas A&M single-season record. He finished his career as the Aggies’ all-time leader with 38 career sacks, which currently ranks second in the school record books and remain the most by a Texas A&M defensive lineman. A two-year team captain, Green owns the Texas A&M record with 12 career forced fumbles, and his 22 tackles against Baylor in 1979 were an Aggie single-game record (currently tied for third). He finished his career with 283 total tackles.

Willis twice led the Southeastern Conference in tackles and was selected to the most first team All-American squads (13) ever by a Rebel player in a single season. A first team All-American in 2005 and 2006, he was also a two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year.

McFadden was the 2007 Player of the Year by the Walter Camp Foundation and The Sporting News. He racked up 25 first-team All-America honors (six Freshman All-American selections), won the Doak Walker Award twice and is a two-time SEC Offensive Player of the Year. He is the only Razorback in program history to win multiple national awards in his career.

Former Miami coach Dennis Erickson, who won two national championships, and Joe Taylor, who won 233 games at historically black colleges, were selected for induction as coaches.
