As Alabama and LSU prepare to face off in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night, the Tigers will be looking to end the Crimson Tide’s six-game winning streak in the rivalry game.

In fact, over the last 10 years, the Tide have won eight of the 10 matchups against the their SEC West rivals.

According to former LSU coach Les Miles, the reason for Alabama’s dominance is simple — the Tide are winning on the recruiting trails.

Miles discussed the Tide’s advantage over the Tigers with The Advocate ahead of Saturday’s matchup:

“It’s pretty simple,” Miles said. “Great job recruiting. They are a recruiting organization. Everything they do is based on serving the player and is a recruiting tool.”

Last year, Alabama beat LSU 10-0 in Baton Rouge in a game that wasn’t as close as the score indicated.

However, anything can happen when the two rivals get together, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see another close game play out in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night.

This weekend’s game kicks off at 7 p.m. Central time and can be seen on CBS.
