The New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams both have plenty of former SEC players on their rosters.

It’s safe to say ex-SEC stars will play big parts in who wins the big game on Sunday, but some SEC schools have longer streaks of having players in the Super Bowl than others.

In a release sent out by LSU on Wednesday, each school’s current streak was listed, led by LSU and Georgia, who have had players in the last 18 Super Bowls:

  • LSU — 18 years
  • Georgia — 18
  • Florida — 17
  • Alabama — 11
  • Arkansas — 10
  • Tennessee — 10
  • Texas A&M — 10
  • South Carolina — 7
  • Auburn — 4
  • Vanderbilt — 2
  • Mississippi State — 0
  • Ole Miss — 0
  • Missouri — 0
  • Kentucky — 0

While Georgia has the big-name players in this year’s Super Bowl — RBs Todd Gurley and Sony Michel, to name a couple — LSU has players on both teams, too, including Pro Bowl OT Andrew Whitworth.

Will a former SEC star win the MVP award this year? Tune into CBS on Sunday evening to find out.
