Mel Kiper Jr. will be keeping a close eye on a particular battle during the matchup between No. 11 Tennessee and host Florida in Week 3.

Tennessee is aiming for a 3-0 start, while 1-1 Florida hopes to start a winning streak after its victory vs. McNeese.

The ESPN analyst believes one of the keys to the contest will be Tennessee wide receiver Bru McCoy going up against Florida cornerback Jason Marshall Jr.

Kiper Jr. shares his analysis as 1 of his 3 things to Watch in Week 3.

At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, Tennessee’s Bru McCoy has unique traits for the receiver position — but he’s going to have his hands full when he matches up with Florida cornerback Jason Marshall Jr. next Saturday night. Robinson [Marshall Jr.] can get handsy at times, but he has the size (6-foot-1) and physicality to disrupt McCoy’s routes. If he can help stop the rhythm of the Volunteers’ passing game, the Gators could pull off an upset — and Robinson [Marshall Jr.] could move up draft boards. I ranked him as my No. 6 corner before the season.”

McCoy has amassed 7 receptions for 72 yards this season, while Marshall Jr. has 2 solo tackles.

This will be the 53rd all-time meeting between the rivals, with Florida holding a 31-21 edge. Tennessee won last season’s meeting 38-33 to snap a 5-game losing streak vs. Florida.

Tennessee at Florida is slated for Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. EST and will be televised on ESPN.
