In recent days, former Boise State star QB Kellen Moore received a contract extension in his job as offensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys. Moore was reportedly in the mix to be the next head coach at Boise, but how far along Moore got with the Broncos apparently is up for debate.

That’s because Troy Aikman of Fox Sports mentioned Moore’s interest in the job during the broadcast of the New York Giants-Cowboys game on Sunday afternoon. Also on the broadcast, Joe Buck said Moore’s involvement with Boise “fell apart,” but then Aiken interjected.

“I’ve been hearing, Joe — I don’t know what exactly was reported — I’ve been hearing that he was offered the job and had accepted the job,” Aikman said. “I think there was a lot in the story there as far as of what has kept him in Dallas.”

Earlier this weekend, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that Moore has bypassed the opportunity, and Football Scoop reported that former Florida assistant Jeff Choate, now the head coach at Montana State coach, had been vetted by the Broncos and was expected to be interviewed by Broncos officials.
