The stars took center stage Saturday during Arkansas’ 75-73 upset win over Kentucky. Oscar Tshiebwe and JD Notae both put up 30 points for their team, and both performances had some historical significance attached.

Tshiebwe – who remains one of the favorites to take home National Player of the Year honors – went 13-for-21 from the floor and grabbed 18 rebounds for another double-double. 8 of those rebounds came on the offensive end of the floor.

He rounded out the performance with 3 blocks, 2 assists and a steal. Tshiebwe also became the first Kentucky player to reach 30+ points and 18+ rebounds in an SEC road game since 1970.

The last Wildcat to accomplish those numbers was Dan Issel in a game at Ole Miss:

For the Razorbacks, it was Notae’s 30 points and 8 assists that powered Arkansas. That makes Notae the first SEC player to hit those marks vs. a top-10 team in the past 25 seasons.
