Associated Press Top 25 voters have it easy this week. Due to scheduled bye weeks, postponements and cancelations, almost half of the AP Top 25 was off (12 teams) on Saturday. It doesn’t look like voters will need to make many changes for the new poll.
At the time of this projection, no ranked teams lost. No. 19 SMU, however, trails Tulsa 28-24. Tulsa was already knocking on the door of being ranked as one of the higher teams in the “others receiving votes” pool. Assuming Tulsa holds on to get the W, we project the Golden Hurricane to get into the Top 25 with SMU dropping out.
