On the heels of the Big Ten Conference reportedly canceling the 2020 season, the SEC presidents have scheduled an impromptu meeting Monday afternoon, according to Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger. The meeting wasn’t previously scheduled.

The Big Ten will reportedly make it official Tuesday that it will cancel the season, while the Pac-12 is thought to follow the B1G’s lead and cancel their season, too.

As things stand right now, the SEC, ACC and Big 12 are all still planning on playing; however, that could change at any time.

A vote by the presidents on the season isn’t necessarily expected Monday afternoon, per the report, but the topic of canceling will likely be discussed, although no formal topic was given.

SEC athletic directors met earlier Monday morning on a regularly scheduled call of their own.

It’s clear that players want to play the season. Top players from around the country started the #WeWantToPlay movement Sunday night, and it was the No. 1 trending topic on social media.
