Last week, it was reported that Breiden Fehoko, a talented defensive lineman who plans to transfer from Texas Tech, had a few SEC schools on his short list.

After his visit to LSU last weekend, that list seems to have narrowed.

Fehoko started 25 games over the past two seasons in Lubbock, living up to his top-50 ranking as a recruit (247Sports Composite) with 38 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.

According to the Athens Banner-Herald, LSU has the inside track to sign Fehoko, but Georgia can’t be counted out thanks to his connection with a member of the Bulldogs’ staff.

According to Fehoko, LSU was a worthwhile visit.

“By far it has been the most eye-opening trip with just transparency and how up front the coaches were… Right now, LSU just by that trip sparked my notice of having them ahead of everyone else.”

As for the Bulldogs, Fehoko has been recruited heavily by D-line coach Tray Scott, who knows him from his days at Ole Miss. While on staff there, Scott recruited Fehoko before he ultimately chose Texas Tech. Fehoko claims Scott is recruiting him to Athens in order to form a dynamic duo lining up next to Trenton Thompson.

“He’s sold the fact of me playing next to Trent if Trent doesn’t decide to leave after this year.”

But the big man from Texas Tech is also being recruited to play for LSU line coach Pete Jenkins. Though Tray Scott may be from his coaching tree, it’s hard to beat the original. The biggest issue for LSU in that aspect is Jenkins’ age. At 75, it’s hard to imagine that he will be in Baton Rouge very long.

Fehoko will make his decision after visiting Georgia over Easter weekend.
