Alabama-LSU has become one of the SEC’s most intense rivalries (albeit one-sided in recent years). That’s not stopping one Crimson Tide linebacker from heaping praise on a former Tigers running back.

UA LB Mack Wilson appeared to be following the NFL Draft Friday night. He quote-tweeted the NFL’s official account announcing that LSU’s Derrius Guice had been selected at No. 59 overall by the Washington Redskins. Despite the Tide-Tigers rivalry, Wilson did not shy away from offering his opinion that the Redskins are getting a steal with Guice in the late second round.

While there are plenty of rumors surrounding Guice’s drop to No. 59, if he is able to stay out of trouble, he’ll likely prove Wilson right. In the lead-up to the draft, Guice was widely considered to be a first-round talent, as evidenced by his invitation to AT&T Stadium, the site of this year’s draft.

Wilson and Guice faced each other on the field in the 2016 and ’17 seasons.
