WATCH: CBS Sports analysts predict who will play in the SEC Championship Game
It’s that time of the year again.
Analysts from every media outlet are predicting who will play in and win the SEC Championship and the College Football Playoff. Media members at SEC Media Days predicted Alabama to win the SEC Championship in 2018.
CBS Sports’ Rick Neuheisel, Houston Nutt and Brian Jones joined Adam Zucker on “Inside College Football” to talk all things college football and the SEC Thursday night, and the trio predicted the SEC Championship Game. Interestingly, they all didn’t pick Alabama either. Only Neuheisel picked Alabama winning the SEC West and playing in Atlanta against Georgia. Nutt and Jones both picked Auburn out of the West, while Jones picked the Gators out of the East.
Jones made headlines Wednesday night by putting the Gators in his College Football Playoff top four. Really.
Here are the SEC Championship Game picks by the three analysts:
- Neuheisel: Alabama beats Georgia
- Nutt: Auburn beats Georgia
- Jones: Florida beats Auburn

Jones made a failed attempt to get in the acting business.
What are we supposed to expect?
Jones just stop… your playing yourself. As for the Nutt job just stop…. you might need this number in your backpocket 1-800-273-8255. And for the Nuella why tho??
you’re*
and the grammar police got me… my hands are up I have nothing in my hand officer dont shoot officer..
Don’t*
*have got
Also missing a comma after “up” and “officer”
And the appalling lack of capitals to begin sentences.
I assume Jones and Nutt haven’t seen Auburn’s schedule yet. Either that or they don’t know Auburn’s road record over the last few years.
Pretty sure they know Auburn’s won 2 SEC titles(been to 3 SECCG) 1 NC, 1 runner up NC in the past 8 years.WTF has Cowbell U done Mike?
Picking Florida to win the East is one thing (spoiler: they’re not with games against UGA, South Carolina, LSU, and Mississippi State), but to say they will then beat Auburn in Atlanta is just plain foolish. I think we’re overestimating Mullen just a bit there in year one with no QB and a struggling O-Line.
In the future maybe but you’re right we dont have the O-line or QB this year
It’s pretty obvious drug testing is not a prerequisite for being a sports analyst.
Well at least one of them got it right.
(no it wasn’t Nutt)
WDE!
Shut yo mouth!
