By Keith Farner
Published:
Cole Cubelic was on hand for the Texas A&M-LSU game on Saturday night, but took in thoughts from every game around the SEC, and offered his latest opinions on every team around the league.
He said LSU’s win was, “what a way to send O out!”
The former Auburn offensive line called the Iron Bowl a “brutal loss” for the Tigers, while he also said Alabama’s struggles were obvious.
For Georgia, he said Brock Bowers is a valuable weapon and that Stetson Bennett is in full control.
Here are his takeaways:
We do it each week, my Sunday SEC takeaways…
ALABAMA: Win vs rival on road. Win & in. Credit for battling & finding a way. OL struggles obvious, especially RT. No push, protection breakdowns & shuffling magnifies. QB pretty damn good. Final drive amazing. 47 & 48 great up front

AUBURN: Brutal loss. 3rd in a row. The energy & enthusiasm was great to see. Stadium jumping! OL struggled. No push. 4 was going. Entire group made tough catches they had to have. DL super disruptive, esp 99, 29, 50, 55!!! Great plan from Mason. Just have to finish! 2pt calls odd

GEORGIA: Dominated rival & got undefeated regular season! 19 is such a valuable weapon! 86 needs more credit in the run game. Great to see 1 back. He will bring attention. Middle of OL had mild struggles. DL/LBs just too much. Goodness they are fun to watch. 13 in full control!

LSU: What a way yo send O out! 18 was freaking incredible! DL made plays when needs. Loved plan from Daronte. QB grew up. Some massive throws. RT struggled. LT been playing well for weeks. Place had serious energy last night! Bowling then on to the next. Appreciate those guys!

MISSOURI: 1 is the real deal. Should get awards. But still bends some balance. Get great individual efforts on both sides but doesn’t always seem to piece itself together. 25 brought it on def. 9 brought it on def. just got lost with all the visual deception too often. Bowling.

SOUTH CAROLINA: Didn’t match up well with that defensive front. Lacked balance on offense but HAD to get run going. Turnovers hurt & could not create explosive plays. DL couldn’t disrupt & couldn’t get them ahead of the chains. Still way ahead of schedule! Bowl will be big help!

TEXAS A&M: Drops we’re unacceptable. OL not great. Could create space in run game, granted box was full. QB mostly handled 5 man fronts well. WRs being banged up really hurt. 85 needed more targets. DL was filthy. 2 just brought it. Pressure late was odd. Tough season w/injuries.

VANDERBILT: Love watching 24 operate. Needed more QB run game to go. Couldn’t get 19 going downfield. 3 down looks caused some problems early but eventually could not hold up. The effort was not poor. 0 had maybe the best game I’ve seen him play. Need some help to arrive soon.
