Shane Gillis announced as guest picker for College GameDay show at Notre Dame
Shane Gillis will serve as the celebrity guest picker on College GameDay on Friday afternoon.
College GameDay announced that news on Friday, just hours before its show in South Bend, Indiana, is set to begin. Notre Dame will host Indiana in the first-ever on-campus College Football Playoff game on Friday evening at 8 p.m. ET.
Here’s the official announcement:
This is the first of 2 shows College GameDay will stage this weekend. ESPN previously announced that it’s flagship show would have 2 locations this weekend for the first round of the College Football Playoff. GameDay will be in Columbus on Saturday morning for its tradition Saturday morning show.
Gillis is widely-regarded as one of the top standup comedians working today. He hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live earlier this year and his Netflix Show, Tires, has been renewed for Season 2.
As for his connection to college football, Gillis is a Notre Dame fan. He appeared on Pat McAfee’s kicking segment in College Station way back in Week 1 before Texas A&M took on the Fighting Irish.
Friday’s College GameDay show in South Bend is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon.
