SEC fans can still count on Steve Spurrier for a zinger.

The Head Ball Coach got in a two-for-one during an appearance on WRUF Gainesville’s “The Tailgate” talking about the college football season.

“I heard Paul Finebaum talking about Vanderbilt. He didn’t think they could win one, he said. To tell you the truth, I don’t know how they’re going to win one. Because they don’t have Arkansas on the schedule,” Spurrier stated, per Zach Abolverdi of Rivals’ Gators Territory.

Vanderbilt is certainly unlikely to be favored in a 10-game all-SEC schedule that includes all the SEC East teams plus Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. ESPN’s Football Power Index does not have the Commodores as the current favorite heading into any of those games.

As for Arkansas, the FPI favors Arkansas in one game, giving Sam Pittman’s Razorbacks a 50.5 percent chance to beat Mississippi State. The transitive property rarely can’t be counted on in sports, but if it could be, perhaps Vanderbilt’s best chance to avoid a goose egg in the win column will come against Mike Leach’s Bulldogs.
